Outdoor ceremony with white chairs and string lights, perfect for rehearsal before the big day.

Why Are Offsite Rehearsals Just as Good as On-Site Rehearsals?

The night before a wedding is obviously full of excitement. Final preparations are underway and the countdown is on to walk down the aisle to say “I Do!” But amongst all this excitement, nerves can also work their way into the mix. It’s normal to feel this way and you want to be as prepared as possible for the big day.

One way couples prepare for the ceremony is a rehearsal the night before the wedding. Traditionally, the couple, wedding party, and close family gather together in the ceremony space to walk through the ceremony from start to finish. It helps for those involved to have an idea of where to walk, what to say and how to act. But, did you know this does not have to happen at the venue?

As long as you have an aisle to walk down you can rehearse for your big day. At Port 393, our ceremony setup is beautiful yet simple. We set up elegant chairs in a standard formation that can be worked with any space. From there, it’s easy to run through the ceremony with all your people. You can practice walking down the aisle, reciting vows, and the magic kiss!

This can be recreated in a restaurant, backyard, grandma’s house and even the beach! Gather your family, friends, officiant, wedding party and soon-to-be spouse, pick a fun spot and rehearse anywhere. Take the stress out of rehearsals by choosing your favorite place at the ideal time based on your needs and your dinner time.

The most important part of rehearsal is the officiant. At this time your officiant will walk you through the ceremony. They will ensure the music and stages are executed perfectly.

If you still feel like you would like to rehearse in the space you will be getting married, Port 393 offers morning before rehearsals. The morning before your wedding, you can come to Port 393 and run through your big day in our ceremony space. We specifically reserve the mornings from 8am to 9am to make sure the venue is not occupied. If this is something you are interested in, please reach out to one of our team members or your Day of Coordinator and they will be happy to assist you.

We want your wedding to be as stress-free as possible! Rehearsals help to make sure everyone is on the same page and everything runs smoothly. But take it from us, the wedding experts; that a wedding rehearsal can happen anywhere!
