We typically spend a lot of time in Holland, which means we know some of most romantic places in town to grab a bite to eat this Valentine’s Day. Here’s a list of our favorite places with date night suggestions in Downtown Holland!
So, let us help you find the best place to celebrate your love on Valentine’s day and give you a list of three places to eat in Downtown Holland!
Hops at 84 East
Hops at 84 East offers a wide variety of options for anyone’s pallet. They take pride in using seasonal ingredients and supporting local businesses.
You can choose from pizza, comfort food, salads, nightly steak & seafood specials, and so much more. Hops also has one of the largest beer selections in the area and a unique & delicious craft cocktail menu.
They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, which you can enjoy on the bar side of the restaurant. You’ll feel right at home in this rustic downtown restaurant.
Your date night could look like this: You walk down 8th street and stop in a few shops (it’s just window shopping, okay??) and stop by The Peanut Store or Kilwin’s for a sweet treat to save for later.
Then pop over to Hops 84 East and find a quite tale tucked away on the quiet side of the restaurant, or opt for a table at the bar.
After you get settled in with a craft cocktail or a glass of unique beer or wine, you can share a delicious appetizer before enjoying one of the stunning nightly specials.
To finish your evening right, your server or bartender can guide you to the perfect nightcap or digestif!
Poquito/Obstacle No. 1
Obstacle No. 1 and Poquito are right next door to each other and share a kitchen and food menu, so you can choose which type of experience you want!
Poquito is a Latin and Spanish restaurant where you can order small tapas-style dishes and drink margaritas and sangria all night long!
Obstacle No. 1 is a speakeasy bar with low light and whimsical & intricate cocktails that will make you feel luxurious and sophisticated.
Your date night could look like this: You go to Sperry’s Moviehouse to enjoy a luxury cinematic experience with roomy, heated, reclining massage chairs and have a drink or snack sent right to you during the movie.
Then walk just a few feet to Poquito where you can choose from their many exciting tapas dishes and have a carafe of sangria to go with it. These dishes will be brought out at leisure so you can have time to enjoy each one.
After you have enjoyed your eclectic dinner, you can sneak right next door to have a romantic end to your evening at Obstacle No. 1. Here you will be able to choose from a plethora of exotic and intelligent cocktails that will surprise and delight you.
The dim lighting and intimate atmosphere will make you feel like you have the whole place to yourselves.
BUTCH’s Dry Dock
Butch’s Dry Dock offers a classic date night experience with a twist. You can enjoy a specially curated wine pairing with each culinary dish and finish with a nightcap in their secret speakeasy bar in their basement!
All you have to do is ask your server or the host about the “ØNDERGRØND.”
It is only open during select hours, so we recommend calling ahead for the speakeasy!
Your date night could look like this: You begin your night by stopping by the to-go window at New Holland and grab a social district beer or cocktail to walk around with.
Then you cuddle by the outdoor fireplace right outside Kilwin’s and do a little people-watching and just enjoy each other’s company. When your table is ready, you are seated at a pre-set table and are offered a fine dining experience.
After your delicious meal, paired with the perfect wine, you ask your server about the speakeasy. Your server then discreetly leads you down a staircase and through a coded door, where you step right into the 1920’s.
Here you can enjoy prohibition-style cocktails and a true speakeasy atmosphere!
